The chosen poem Holding My Breath highlights a memory of being taught how to swim by his favorite aunt. It shares how she has now passed away and how all of her memories have gone under, just like how Charles did when he first learned to hold his breath. Holding My Breath showcases the tension of losing someone you love as well as the correlation of passing away and the pressure of being under water It reflects distortion and constraint through the use of type, image, and color.
